Understand Pathways for Visting Australia

A visitor visa is often the first step in a journey to Australia. While these visas are designed for short stays, choosing the wrong subclass or breaching a condition can lead to cancellations and re-entry bans.

At Immilex, we ensure your application is "decision-ready" and that you fully understand your rights and restrictions while onshore.

VISITOR & HOLIDAY VISAS

Maintaining Compliance

Even on a holiday, you are subject to mandatory visa conditions. A breach of these rules can lead to immediate cancellation and a 3-year re-entry ban.

Core Compliance Standards:
No Work (Condition 8101): Most visitor visas strictly prohibit work. This includes any activity that would normally attract a salary.
Business Visitor Activities (Condition 8115): If you are on a business stream, you may attend meetings and sign contracts, but you cannot sell goods or services directly to the Australian public.
Maximum Study (Condition 8201): You are generally limited to a maximum of 3 months of study or training while on a visitor visa.
No Further Stay (Condition 8503): Some visitor visas are granted with a "No Further Stay" condition, meaning you cannot apply for most other visas while you are in Australia.
Working Holiday Maker visas: Condition 8547 limits work with the same employer to 6 months, and condition 8548 limits study or training to 4 months.

No. Standard visitor visas carry a "No Work" condition. If you want to work, you must explore the 417 or 462 Work and Holiday options.

You become an unlawful non-citizen. This can lead to detention, removal, and a 3-year re-entry ban (exclusion period) from Australia.

This depends on whether your visa has a "No Further Stay" (8503) condition. If it does, you must leave Australia before applying for a new visa unless you get a waiver.

No. ETA holders need to apply for a new ETA if they get a new passport because the ETA cannot be transferred.
